Important: Do not delete or move this extracted folder after loading it into Chrome. Chrome reads the extension files directly from this folder whenever the browser runs.
Open Google Chrome, type chrome://extensions into the address bar (Omnibox), and press Enter. Alternatively, you can click the three vertical dots (⋮) in the top-right corner of Chrome → Extensions → Manage Extensions.
Navigate to the Extensions management page in your browser.
Look at the top-right corner of the Extensions page. You will see a toggle switch labeled "Developer mode". Click it to turn it ON.
What this does: Enabling Developer mode reveals the toolbar buttons that allow loading unpacked extensions from your local disk.
Once Developer mode is enabled, a secondary action bar appears in the top-left corner of the page. Click the button labeled "Load unpacked".

Troubleshooting "Manifest is missing": If Chrome displays this error, you selected an outer folder rather than the inner extracted folder. Navigate one level deeper until you see manifest.json in the folder, and select that folder.
Once loaded, Ezmeer will appear in your extensions list. Click the Extensions puzzle piece icon (🧩) in the top-right toolbar of Chrome, find Ezmeer, and click the Pin icon (📌) to keep it permanently visible for quick access.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does Chrome show a "Developer mode extensions" warning?
Google Chrome displays a standard notification when running unpacked extensions to ensure users are aware an extension is loaded from disk. This is normal and expected for any extension loaded outside the Chrome Web Store.
What happens if I restart my computer or close Chrome?
The extension remains installed and active as long as you keep the extracted folder in its permanent location on your drive. You do not need to repeat these steps every time you launch Chrome.
How do I update when a new version is released?
Simply download the latest ZIP file, extract it over the existing folder, open chrome://extensions, and click the circular Reload icon on the Ezmeer card.
Does this work on Brave, Edge, or Opera?
Yes! All Chromium-based browsers (including Microsoft Edge, Brave, Opera, and Vivaldi) support loading unpacked Manifest V3 extensions following the exact same procedure.
